Marta Simon, a design student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Bydgoszcz University of Technology, as the only representative of Poland, became a finalist of the prestigious Pro Carton Young Designers Award 2021. The competition participants submitted 640 works from 109 universities, 12 of them were selected in the final.

The idea of the Pro Carton Young Designers Award 2021 is to look for innovative and innovative design solutions in cardboard packaging. Her project is a series of packaging for woollen yarns. The project is comprehensive, it includes both construction creation and compatible graphic design.

The packaging has been appreciated especially for its functional qualities. The design includes several innovative and simple solutions, such as a cut preventing the end of the yarn from being lost or a system that allows the packages to be combined into sets. It allows using the packaging as a practical organizer for yarns.
