The Bohdan Jerzy Koziełło-Poklewski Award of the Mayor of Olsztyn for them. in history is awarded every two years since 2011. The laureate of the last competition was Dr Radosław Gross from the Institute of History of the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM).
Prof. Radosław Gross is a historian and researcher of recent history. He deals with economic and social history, the history of Warmia and Mazury as well as researching the cultures of memory. The scientist received the Award for his work “Economic transformations of the countryside in Warmia and Mazury in the years 1945-1956”.
So far, there was no monograph devoted to the economic changes of villages in Warmia and Mazury after World War II. Radosław Gross’s book can be a starting point for research on the history of agriculture after 1945 in the area of Warmia and Mazury, as well as other lands incorporated into Poland – said in the laudation Prof. Andrzej Korytko from UWM.
