Twenty students from four Ukrainian universities (Lviv University of Technology, Kiev National University of Construction and Architecture, Kharkiv University of Civil Engineering and Architecture and Chernivtsi National University) learn the secrets of protection and management of cultural heritage under the supervision of scientists from the Lublin University of Technology (PL).

“We want to prepare students for work in their home country. Due to the ongoing war, the skills acquired during the course will certainly help them properly take care of valuable, historic buildings, estimate the damage and plan the reconstruction of the facilities”, says Prof. Bogusław Szmygin, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the PL.

Students from Ukraine learn a model for creating documentation, determining the state of preservation of a historic object, its attributes and methods of collecting and then using the collected information. During the classes, they use a drone and a 3D printer.
