The University of Wrocław and the Medical University of Wrocław are preparing a federalization plan. The aim is to strengthen the potential while maintaining the autonomy of both universities. For the first project work, the universities have received a grant of almost PLN 5 million from the Ministry of Education and Science.
Thanks to the grant, a group of external experts will be selected to assess the potential of federalisation. University teams are already working on the preparation of relevant data.
The cooperation between the federation entities will concern a wide range of activities: from the development of good practices in the area of management, to scientific projects, to new jointly run courses such as biomedicine.
The federation means that the universities retain their identities, they have their rectors, each retains its Senate but they are headed by a president. The formula for electing him remains open”, says the rector of the University of Wrocław, Professor Robert Olkiewicz.
