The Interdepartmental Centre for Cognitive Neuroscience has been launched at Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM) in Poznań. The centre will carry out advanced and globally unique research in areas such as biophysics, psychoacoustics, biopsychology and neuropedagogy.
Cognitive neuroscience is an interdisciplinary research area focused on the study of the neural correlates of cognitive processes, such as attention, image and sound processing, or problem solving
“Thus, centres for cognitive neuroscience are being established in research centres around the world, where teams consisting of biologists, physicists, educators, psychologists and cognitive scientists conduct transdisciplinary research. Consequently, the necessity arose to take steps to establish this type of centre also at the UAM,” says the head of the Centre, Prof Michał Klichowski.
