Prize of the President of the Polish Space Agency awarded to a student of Gdansk University of Technology

Marcin Jasiukowicz, a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation, and currently a student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding at the Gdansk University of Technology – has been awarded the Prize of the President of the Polish Space Agency for the best thesis in space research. 

The young scientist was awarded the third degree prize for his engineering thesis ‘Stardust – Stratospheric experimental platform’. The winner addresses the topic of stratospheric balloon flights and the research platform he constructed with the Stardust team as part of the international REXUS/BEXUS project.

The aim of the Polish Space Agency’s competition is to promote individual and team achievements of Polish university students. This year’s fifth competition received a record number of entries. A total of 49 works were submitted from 19 universities and scientific units from all over the country.
