Students of the Automation, Electronics and Computer Science Faculty of the Silesian University of Technology won the nationwide Volkswagen BE THE BEST competition. Marek Bonk and Antoni Zegartowski have developed an innovative design of the system of supervision over the removal of failures at the welding room along with the application for mobile devices.

BE THE BEST! is a competition organized by Volkswagen Poznań. Participants individually or in two-person teams choose one of the proposed topics, described by professional departments as a case study and create their own project. The best works are rewarded and innovative ideas have the chance to be implemented in Volkswagen factories.

BE THE BEST! competition is an example of practical cooperation between science and business. The innovative projects developed by the students concern problems that the employees of the company deal with on a daily basis. It is an opportunity to confront theoretical knowledge with the real business situation.
