An innovative multimedia laboratory, cutting edge in Europe, is being created at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. It will feature a proprietary interface with a modular system, a world-class immersive sound system and a virtual acoustics system. The opening is scheduled for late April/early May.
The lab will be equipped with a pioneering system for multi-channel sound emission in the 3D domain and a system for simulating the acoustics of live rooms, concerts and recording sessions. Innovative projects are planned that will revolutionise the approach to sound in the future, as well as artist residencies under the guidance of the space’s creators.
The place is also intended to serve as a platform for the exchange of knowledge about sound and scientific approaches to it and to be a space that connects the creative, scientific and business communities. Thanks to the solutions applied by ISOVER and RIGIPS, the facility under construction in Katowice will be able to boldly compete with other facilities of this type in Europe.
