Poznań to host the Congress of Post-Medieval Archaeology

Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu

Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań will host the participants of the Congress of Post-Medieval Archaeology. The proceedings are open to researchers at all stages of their careers: academics, students, commercial archaeologists and enthusiasts of the archaeology of the times closest to us, reports the university.

The event will take place from 5 to 7 May. This is the first time the Congress will be held outside the UK. It will start a new series of such meetings, alternating between the UK and the rest of Europe.

This is the second such major event to be hosted by a Poznan university in two years. In August 2022, Poznań hosted the XXIII International Congress of Historical Sciences, which brought together many distinguished historians from around the world. Now, in turn, the Council of the Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology has decided to hold the society’s congress in Poznań.
