Prof. Wojciech Tygielski talks about Italian inspirations in Polish culture

The University of Warsaw (UW) would like to invite guests to another meeting of the “8 Lectures for the New Millennium” series on 28 March 2023. This time, Prof. Wojciech Tygielski, from the Faculty of Arts and Culture Sciences at the UW will deliver the lecture ‘Everyone gets the Rome they deserve. Italian inspirations in Polish culture’. 

Prof. Wojciech Tygielski is a historian of modern times and a publisher of sources. His academic interests include the social history of Poland and Europe in the 16th-17th centuries, Polish-Italian contacts and travel in the modern period, and the history of diplomacy.

In 1993-1995, he was director of the Polish Institute in Rome. He also held the position of Vice-Dean of the Faculty of History of the University (1999-2002), and was Vice-Chancellor of the University for Research and Cooperation with Foreign Countries (2002-2008).

Prof. Wojciech Tygielski’s lecture ‘Everyone gets the Rome they deserve. Italian Inspirations in Polish Culture’ will take place on 28 March at 5 p.m. in the auditorium of the Old Library on the Krakowskie Przedmieście campus.
