Research funding is key to the development of a competitive economy. According to the Rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Kraków, Prof. Jerzy Lis, the most effective investments are made in the development of young people.
Cooperation between AGH University of Science and Technology and industry has been one of our priorities since the beginning of the university’s operation. Relations with leading Polish and foreign companies, with start-ups, with enterprises, which have been carefully maintained and developed over the years, are the flywheel for implementations, which flow from the university to industry’, said the AGH rector.
Prof Jerzy Lis pointed out that AGH has almost a thousand cooperation agreements with industry, administration and institutions.
Some of the agreements concern key sectors for Poland – such as the recently signed agreement with Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe, which is an investor in the first nuclear power plant in Poland.
The rector of AGH stressed that the task of the university is to educate in such areas and such specialists, who after graduation, and often still during their education, will be a significant support for companies.
