The Krakow part of the World Copernican Congress was inaugurated at the Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The inaugural lecture ‘Nicolaus Copernicus’ Theory of Relativity’ was delivered by Rev. Prof. Michał Heller.
The Krakow part of the World Copernican Congress, which lasted from 24 to 26 May, consisted of lectures and discussions focusing on philosophy and economics. Scientists and economists from the United States, Denmark, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Italy, the Czech Republic, Canada and the United Kingdom were invited to participate.
“I am convinced that the lectures, debates and events accompanying the Krakow part of this momentous event, honoured with the presence of renowned economists and philosophers, are the most appropriate way to commemorate the immortal work of Nicolaus Copernicus and, above all, an excellent opportunity to pay tribute to this brilliant Pole”, wrote Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek in a letter to the Congress participants.
