On 21-23 June 2023, the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn will host combined scientific conferences: 18th Symposium of Polish Carabidologists and 9th Symposium of Baltic Coleopterologists. The organisers of the event are: Department of Entomology Phytopathology and Molecular Diagnostics of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry of UWM in Olsztyn and the Department of Forest Protection from the Institute of Forest Sciences of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.

After the break caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the organisers want to recreate the meetings, both nationally on the beetles of running beetles (carabidology) and internationally on the beetles of the countries around the Baltic Sea.

The main theme of the conference will be the presentation of research results on the ecology and systematics of beetles from the Baltic regions, as well as on Carabidae as bioindicators of environmental change.
