Equipment for almost PLN 9 million received by the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin

The West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, by the end of 2019 will be supplied with a measurement laboratory and a welding plant for almost PLN 9 million. In this way, the university will develop scientific and researching potential in shipbuilding, offshore, energy or transshipment.

The metrology laboratory will be provided with the apparatus for measuring the dynamic properties of structures and large-size machines, IT infrastructure, equipment for diagnosing and controlling machines, for example portable machines and technology for strength and utility tests of new composite materials.

A modern simulation system for thermal-deformation cycles of welding processes will be purchased for the university welding plant to evaluate the technology and materials used for welding. Modern equipment will be also received by the department of mechanical engineering and mechatronics.
