Four young Polish scientists receive grants from the European Research Council

Four Poles received grants of the European Council for Scientific Research for their research. The grants amount to nearly 6 million euro. This is a record in terms of the number of grants for Polish scientific institutions from the beginning of the Council’s existence.

The European Research Council (ERC) selected nearly 400 people with unique potential and scientific achievements out of 3170 applications. The grants were awarded in the ERC Starting Grants call under the Horizon 2020 program for the youngest researchers from 2 to 7 years after the PhD.

The awarded Polish scientists are: Dr Piotr Achinger from the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Dr. Michał Németh and Dr Tomasz Żuradzki both from the Jagiellonian University and Dr Magdalena Winiarska from the Warsaw Medical University.
