The Ministry of Health has announced almost PLN 100 million for the construction of the Silesian Children’s Oncology and Haematology Centre in Zabrze. The aim of the investment is to create a unique clinical centre dedicated to small oncology and haematology patients from the Silesian and neighbouring provinces.
The newly constructed building will be located within the structure of the Stanisław Szyszko Clinical Hospital No. 1 of the Medical University of Silesia. The centre, together with the entire diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation infrastructure, will allow children to be treated at the highest international level.
The implementation of the project will improve the conditions in which young patients are hospitalised and will allow for the proper exercise of their right to contact their parents and legal guardians, and, last but not least, will make it possible to create decent conditions for parents staying with their children during hospitalisation.
