Researchers from the Institute of Mechanical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in consortium with TW Plast have developed an innovative technology to recover so-called technological heat during stretch film production. Until now, this heat was treated as production waste.

The designed innovative technological heat recovery system, managed by the developed industrial control system, makes it possible to use heat previously dispersed in the environment in the process of preliminary preparation of regranulate, which is the raw material for stretch film production, informs the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.

Developed as part of R&D work carried out in consortium with TW Plast, the technology makes it possible to manage waste that is difficult to recycle, saves materials used in production and reduces electricity consumption, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint.
