A project by employees of the Institute of History at the University of Szczecin entitled ‘The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from the perspective of the Pomeranian principalities’ has won funding from the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities. The project will be carried out between 2024 and 2028; the amount of funding is PLN 627,739.00.
The primary objective of the project is to learn – on the basis of a complete source base collected in Polish and German archives – about the relations linking Pomerania with Poland in the 16th-17th centuries. The investigated neighbourly relations between the two countries and courts will refer to both political, social and economic relations.
The resulting multidimensional picture of mutual relations and contacts should show in full light the relations between the two countries from the early 16th century until the extinction of the Griffin dynasty (1637).
