A mural entitled ‘Sports Giants of AWF Warsaw’ was unveiled on the premises of the Academy of Physical Education (AWF) in Warsaw, presenting outstanding athletes and graduates of the university. The ceremony was attended by Tomasz Rzymkowski, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education and Science.

The mural was created as part of the “Gloria Victis” project, which aims to honour outstanding personalities from the world of sport and science who are graduates of the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw. They include Grzegorz Lato, Otylia Jędrzejczak, Jerzy Kulej, Janusz Kusociński, Paweł Nastula, Zbigniew Boniek, Jacek Wszoła, Czesław Lang and Waldemar Baszanowski.

The mural unveiling ceremony was attended by athletes and experts who contribute daily to the development of physical culture and health science. The meeting was also an opportunity to recognise athletes, coaches, teachers, and university staff.

The ‘Gloria Victis’ project was subsidised by the Ministry of Education and Science with PLN 150,000 as part of the ‘Social Responsibility of Science’ programme.
