Three of the four projects selected in the ForestValue2 Call 2023 competition will be implemented with the participation of researchers from Poland. The researchers will work on topics concerning the use of forest resources, balancing multiple benefits for society, climate, environment and economy. The budget allocated to the Polish teams is more than PLN 2.7 million.
Dr Lidia Stępińska-Ustasiak from the Łukasiewicz – ITECH Research Network of the Institute of Innovation and Technology, in collaboration with scientists from the Łukasiewicz – Poznań Technological Institute Research Network, will implement the CRESTIMB project on innovative timber building systems with an extended service life.
A team led by Dr Jan Pełczyński of the Warsaw University of Technology, thanks to a grant obtained in the ForestValue2 Call 2023 competition, will implement the TiREX project on increasing the efficiency of reusing existing buildings and their components.
A team led by Dr Anna Wierzbicka from the University of Life Sciences in Poznań will implement the IFORPLAN project, in which they will work on an effective method of forest management using spatial planning methods to best balance their economic and environmental functions.
