The University of Lodz (UŁ) has commissioned the first Leica MICA WideField system in Poland and the fifth in the world, thus becoming a pioneer in advanced microscopy techniques. The equipment has been installed at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection at the University of Lodz.

The purchase of this equipment opens up new research opportunities for both the Faculty’s scientific teams and other scientific institutions, expanding the boundaries of cooperation and innovation.

‘The offer of our Laboratory has been enriched with a state-of-the-art Microhub system, which allows us to obtain very clear and accurate images’, says Dr Sylwia Michlewska, head of the Laboratory of Microscopic Imaging and Specialised Biological Techniques at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection at the University of Łódź.

Automatic scanning of preparations, fast operation and intuitive handling, allow a large number of screening tests to be performed with this system, which is essential, for example, for the evaluation of medicinal products. The Leica MICA WideField system is characterised by its versatility. It allows not only the visualisation of cells, but also the rapid imaging of large tissue sections.
