Promotion of science, legislative policy and cooperation between science and business were the main topics of the meeting of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Dariusz Wieczorek, with representatives of science institutions.
Minister Dariusz Wieczorek stressed the importance of preparing specific legislative solutions in order to present proposals for amendments to the Act on Higher Education and Science in the first half of the year, which will respond to the voices of the environment.
During the discussion, the head of the Ministry of Science announced changes to the Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences. Proposals for new solutions will be presented in the first half of 2024 and submitted for further consultation.
The meeting was attended by President of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk, President of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences Prof. Jan Ostrowski, President of the General Council for Science and Higher Education Dr Marcin Pałys, Prof. UW and presidents of the conferences of rectors of different types of Polish higher education institutions, President of the Łukasiewicz Research Network Dr. Andrzej Dybczyński and President of the Foundation for Polish Science Prof. Maciej Żylicz.
