Nine research projects involving scientists from Poland will be financed by the National Science Centre (NCN) as part of the M-ERA.NET Call 2023 competition for international research projects on materials science and engineering. The competition is organised by the M-ERA.NET 3 network, in which NCN is a member. Polish teams will receive €2 million to carry out their research.
The competition attracted 382 initial applications, followed by 109 full applications. Funding of €44 million was eventually awarded to 43 international research projects involving 205 teams.
The winning projects involving Polish scientists funded by the National Science Centre include two projects from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, two projects from the Warsaw University of Technology and one each from Medical University of Białystok, the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), the Military University of Technology, the Institute of Pharmacology of the PAN and the University of Warsaw.
