Professor Marek Samoć from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology became the laureate of the French-Polish Scientific Award 2019. This prestigious award for scientists from various countries awarded by the French Chemical Society.
The researcher from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology was recognized for outstanding achievements in the field of non-linear optical properties of inorganic and organometallic compounds, conjugated polymers and quantum dots.
Professor Samoć is the head of the Department of Engineering and Modeling of Advanced Materials at the Wrocław University. He is a specialist in the field of physical chemistry, he deals with research on new materials for optoelectronics and photonics. For many years he has worked at the Center of Laser Physics of the Australian National University. He works with numerous research centers in the world. The Foundation for Polish Science appreciated his research, awarding him with the Polish Nobel Prize in 2016.
