“Geographic and political atlas of Poland” awarded in Tokyo

“Geographical and political atlas of Poland” prepared by Dr hab. Marcin Solarz, from the Department of Geography and Regional Studies of the University of Warsaw took third place in the category of atlas during the 29th International Cartographic Conference (ICC) in Tokyo.

ICC is a cyclical event presenting the latest achievements in the field of cartography.

This year the conference was held in the Japanese National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. During the event, works from over 30 countries and regions of the world were presented. They were divided into seven categories: maps, charts, atlases, digital products, digital services, educational cartographic products and other cartographic products (including globes and touch maps).

The award-winning publication of the University of Warsaw presents the geopolitical and economic position of Poland against other European and world countries, as well as data on the Polish economy and society. Information about Poland is included in about half a thousand colorful maps.
