Academy of Physical Education in Katowice investigating the impact of reducing low emissions on health and lifestyle

A team of employees from the Department of Physiological and Medical Sciences at the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice is carrying out a project ‘The impact of limiting low emissions on the health and lifestyle of the residents of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębów Metropolitan Area’. 

The aim of the project is to determine the impact of air pollution on the risk of chronic lung disease, cardiopulmonary insufficiency and the lifestyle of the inhabitants of the Upper Silesian and Zagłębie Metropolis (GZM). 

The project’s application objective is to promote healthy lifestyles among the residents of the GMA by holding lectures for children, parents, teachers and carers, ensuring their knowledge of the impact of air quality on the health effects of physical activity.

The project: was co-financed by the Upper Silesian and Zagłębie Metropolis within the framework of the programme “Metropolitan Fund for the Support of Science 2022-2024”.
