The Scientific Club of Space Engineering at the University of Zielona Góra has won this year’s edition of the FUniP Grant competition of the Polish Universities Forum. The awarded project concerns the determination of the presence of microplastics in the atmosphere in a vertical cross-section from July to December.

The project plans to carry out three stratospheric missions to collect air samples and laboratory analysis of the resulting material. In parallel, ground-level surveys will be carried out using a measuring station to compare data from the higher layers of the atmosphere and ground samples. The results of the research may raise awareness of air pollution issues among the inhabitants of the Lubuskie region.

The Polish Universities Forum is an autonomous agreement of student governments of HEIs associated in the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities. It is a platform for cooperation, communication and exchange of opinions and experiences.
