Almost PLN 70 million for the development of Silesian universities

Rectors of Silesian universities received checks with subsidies for modernizing education system from the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Science and Higher Education, Jaroslaw Gowin as part of the “Integrated University Programs”.

“I want to ensure that these symbolic checks will be cashed as soon as possible. It is very important for us to start the internal reforms as soon as possible, and that money should start working as soon as possible to improve the teaching offer of Silesian universities and raise the level of scientific research, ” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The checks were received by representatives of seven universities – Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk, Rector of the University of Economics Prof. Robert Tomanek, Vice-Rector for Finance and Development of the University of Silesia Prof. Michał Daszykowski, Vice-Rector for Studies and Students of the Medical University of Silesia Prof. Joanna Lewin-Kowalik, Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts Prof. Antoni Cygan, Rector of the University of Technology and Humanities in Bielsko-Biała Prof. Jarosław Janicki and the Rector of the Academy of Jan Długosz in Częstochowa, Prof. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska.
