The Altair supercomputer at the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center is fully operational. It is the largest computing system in Poland today, included in the TOP500 list of the fastest supercomputers in the world.

The following GPU resources are currently available: conventional power – 1320 2-processor nodes based on Intel Xeon Platinium 8268; accelerators – 9 nodes equipped with 8 NVIDIA V100 GPU cards. Applications launched on Altair include topics of artificial intelligence, large data analytics in nuclear physics, quantum chemistry and biology, as well as engineering simulations and COVID-19 research.

Altair has been connected physically and logically with the Orzeł system that has been operating in PSNC since 2016. Logical connection within one task management system enables to provide nearly 8 PFlops of computing power.
