Professor of psychology William E. Hills began a six-week stay at the University of Opole as part of the Fulbright Commission’s ‘Fulbright Specialist’ project, acquired in a competition by the Opole University’s Institute of Health Sciences.

The project will involve a variety of activities – including lectures for students, meetings with research groups, academics and the editors of a quarterly scientific journal. Topics include issues related to gerontology in its broadest sense and current problems of ageing societies.

The Fulbright Specialist programme was established by the US Department of State to fund short-term visits by highly qualified US researchers to institutions, hosted abroad. The programme allows specialists to deepen their knowledge, build forward-looking institutional relationships and gain international cultural experiences that can then be shared with students and colleagues.
