Researchers from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences found a perfectly preserved clasp (fibula), dated to the first century AD, which could be related to the history of the settlement at the archaeological site in Bory Tucholskie.
The site in Bory Tucholskie, which is as well preserved as the well-known Biskupin, was discovered in 2018. It was registered thanks to airborne laser scanning, which showed a picture of the completely preserved spatial arrangement of the human settlement from before about 2,000. years.
Scientists intend to continue research in Bory Tucholskie. Thanks to the financing obtained by the Wda Landscape Park from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Provincial Conservator of Monuments, they intend to conduct non-invasive geomagnetic surveys in the area of about three hectares of the site.
