In the autumn of 2019, scientists from the Center of Mediterranean Archeology of the University of Warsaw (OŚ UW) will begin excavation works in a completely new area – in the Ethiopian region of Tigray, bordering Sudan and Eritrea under the joint program between the University of Warsaw and the University of Mekele.\
The project manager is the Italian researcher Dr Michela Gaudiello, who has experience in conducting archaeological research in Ethiopia, and her knowledge of archaeological material and historical issues will be crucial for selecting future research sites for the first Polish excavation project in Ethiopia.
