The competition for the Prize of the President of the Polish Space Agency for the best thesis in the field of space research has been announced. The prize pool was PLN 35,000 and the winners will also have the opportunity to present their work at one of the industry events.
In the category of bachelor’s and engineering theses, the winner was Piotr Duszkiewicz from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. He received the first degree award for his thesis ‘Selected electronic fragments of microsatellite control’.
In the master’s thesis category, the first-degree award went to Michalina Cisło of the Gdansk University of Technology for her thesis ‘Analysis of changes in the environment related to the activity of the Kilauea volcano using SAR satellite data’.
In the doctoral thesis category, the winner was Dariusz Strugarek from the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław. He was awarded the first degree prize for his thesis ‘Satellite Laser Ranging to Low Earth Orbiters for Orbit Validation and Determination of Global Geodetic Parameters’;
