Bee’s Day at the University of Wroclaw

The Botanical Garden of the University of Wroclaw invites participants to the Bee’s Day. The program includes stories about bees, fairs and outdoor game with a bee in the leading role. The event will begin on Sunday, August 5th at 10.

The event is to show how to help bees. The Botanical Garden organizes a field game with a bee playing the leading role, workshops for building houses for insects and a demonstration of cutting out bitterwoods. Experts of the subject will talk about the pollination processes, what differs the bee from the honey bee, what are the reasons for the bee disappearance, how to help pollinators and what are properties of different honeys.

– We want to show how much we owe to these insects. In our latitude as much as 85 percent. crops are pollinated by bees . Without bees, these plants would cease to reproduce. Meanwhile, bees are in danger. From about 470 species of these insects in Poland as many as 222 are endangered with extinction.
