The Białystok University of Technology (BUT), together with Białystok higher schools and institutions, are launching a project aimed at strengthening cooperation between scientists and entrepreneurs, increasing the competitiveness of the Podlaskie companies and commercializing university ideas.

The pilot project on the development of R&D cooperation between business and universities will include three main tasks: commercialization of university projects, creation of a platform for business services and organization of events during which scientists, entrepreneurs and investors will meet, learn and exchange experiences.

As part of the project, the BUT Institute of Innovation and Technology will employ innovation brokers who will analyze the commercialization potential of 20 business ideas, selected at BUT university Medical University in Białystok and University of Białystok. Experts will then select 10 projects that will receive funding for implementation. Two of the projects will be implemented. The projects should deal with to industries that are a priority for the development of the region: agri-food, metal-machinery and eco-innovation.
