Bachelor studies of biostatistics are launched at the Medical University of Bialystok. This is the first such field of study in Poland. The studies are to combine mathematics, computer science and medicine.

Biostatistics include statistical methods used in medicine and biology as well as other natural sciences (e.g. veterinary medicine).
The studies refer to: mathematical knowledge in the scope of understanding the essence and the use of biostatistic models, IT knowledge in various types of statistical packages and medical knowledge in the scope of substantive understanding of the analyzed phenomenon and its medical character.

The Medical University of Bialystok has already conducted postgraduate studies in biostatistics in the previous years and currently it may use that experience and staff for launching the course for undergraduate studies.
