The book ‘Poland in the British Strategy for Supporting the Resistance. History of the Polish Section of the Special Operations Executive (SOE)” by Dr Anna Zapalec, Prof. of the Pedagogical University of Krakow and Prof. Dr Jacek Tebinka of the University of Gdansk has been distinguished in the competition for the Witold Pilecki International Prize, in the category of historical book of the Pilecki Institute.

“I accept with satisfaction the distinction by the Award Jury granted to the book I co-authored with Prof. Anna Zapalec. Especially, as our work dispels many myths that have arisen in recent times in connection with the history of Poland and the resistance movement during World War II. The most important thing, however, is always the appreciation of the readers”, says Prof. Tebinka.

The Witold Pilecki Prize is awarded to authors of the best scholarly and reportage books published in Polish or English, which deal with the Polish experience of two totalitarianisms.
