From 4 to 8 March, Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow will host Brain Week 2024, which has been held in Krakow since 1999 as part of the international Brain Awareness Week.
The event is organised by the Polish Copernicus Society of Naturalists (PTPK), Jagiellonian University and the Jerzy Maj Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The aim of Brain Week is to draw the public’s attention to issues related to the functioning of the brain and to emphasise the need for research in this field due to the major impact of disorders in the functioning of this organ on the quality of life. The slogan for Brain Week 2024 is ‘The different faces of neuroscience’.
The event kicked off on 4 March with the panel ‘NO-brainer? – not quite, or a few words about neurodegenerative diseases”, featuring Professor Grażyna Stochel, Dr Maria Oszajca, Konrad Kieca and Tobiasz Martyka from the Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University.
