Building a regional identity among the youth of the Baltic states

The University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn is the leader of the consortium, which also includes the Klaipeda University (Lithuania), the University of Latvia in Riga (Latvia) and the University of Tartu (Estonia), which will implement the project “Strengthening the identity of the Baltic Sea border region Building youth cooperation “.

The aim of the project is to strengthen a sense of belonging and to build a regional identity among young people living in the countries bordering the Baltic Sea.

Its implementation is to help build lasting partnerships in the field of youth cooperation, including academic youth and high school students, cooperation of universities and other institutions located on the border of the Baltic states (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia).

Prof. Arkadiusz Żukowski, who leads the UWM research team, emphasized that the project is also intended to help prepare young people for threats such as fake news, disinformation, cyber threats and propaganda. “These challenges are even more relevant when we realize their importance in the face of the war in Ukraine”, he explains.
