Dr Mieczysław Cieszko from the Institute of Mechanics and Applied Computer Science in Bydgoszcz published a scientific article in the renown journal of engineering and technical sciences – International Journal of Engineering Science.
His article deals with issues of mathematical description of liquid and gas transport in unsaturated porous materials of fundamental importance in many areas of engineering. This applies to water flow in soils, oil and gas extraction, geophysics, drying, as well as engineering of porous materials.
Differential equations describing static acids and stationary acids of capillary transport processes in such materials were included. The considerations were based on the macroscopic theory of liquid and gas transport in unsaturated porous materials, proposed by a Bydgoszcz scientist in 2016. According to it, these processes occur in five-dimensional pressure-time-space.
