Better cooperation between the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw and the Gdańsk Theological Seminary in Oliwa is the goal of the new agreement that was signed on September 8, 2021.

The agreement provides that alumni of the Theological Seminary in Gdańsk have the status of students of theology at the Faculty of Theology at the UKSW. The seminary retains its organizational and legal identity, its management and offices, and is governed by its own statute in carrying out formation activities for the priesthood. Classes related to theological studies, as before, will be held in the seminary buildings according to their own timetable.

The signed contract is not the beginning of cooperation between the two universities. The theological seminary in Gdańsk was affiliated with the Faculty of Theology of UKSW in 2004.
