The University Guard began its activity at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw. This is the first such organization in Poland.
The University Guard of the UKSW is an organization whose tasks include maintaining order in the facilities and on the premises of the University, taking care of the security of the academic community, protecting participants of university events and cooperating with technical services. Members of the Guard will conduct security training for other UKSW employees and will organize internships for university students.
The operations of the Guard are supervised by the commander, Dr Zbigniew Mikołajczyk, Rector’s Plenipotentiary for security, who will be the direct superior of all guards, employees and interns in the organization.
Over 40 people, both men and women became the UKSW Guards. During the ceremony in the hall of John Paul II, the members of the new unit received the acts of appointment from the Rector of UKSW.
