Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University to conduct international research project

16.08.2021

Dr Dominik Kurzydłowski, from the Institute of Chemical Sciences of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw and the Slovenian scientist Prof Matic Lozinšek from the “Jožef Stefan” Institute in Ljubljana are jointly implementing the project “High pressure stabilization and phase transitions of elusive transition metal fluorides”.

Scientists intend to conduct experiments using diamond anvils that will allow the samples to be subjected to extremely high pressures. As a result, their properties will be examined.

The aim of the project is to discover new compounds and gain knowledge on the ‘high pressure chemistry of binary transition metal fluorides’.

The project received funding of PLN 947,940. It will be carried out as part of the OPUS LAP competition organized by the National Science Center.
