Conducting joint scientific activities and ultimately also establishing a Clinic for the Treatment of Patients with Coma at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University (UKSW) in Warsaw are the main assumptions of the agreement concluded between UKSW and the “AKOGO?” Foundation and the Budzik company.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of UKSW, Rev. Prof. Ryszard Czekalski, the President of the “AKOGO?” Foundation. Ewa Blaszczyk-Janczarska and Professor Wojciech Maksymowicz, President of the Board of Directors of the “Budzik” company.

According to the agreement, scientific operations will primarily concern the preparation and conduct of a joint research project on non-invasive methods of brain stimulation used in patients with chronic impairment of consciousness.

In addition, the parties will focus on neurophysiological diagnosis and monitoring of the brain function of patients after severe trauma or with encephalopathy due to ischaemia. The diagnosis and psychological and neurological therapy of patients with chronic impairment of consciousness will also be carried out jointly. The agreement also provides for the provision of support to patients’ families.
