The Carpathian State University (KPU) in Krosno is expanding the offer of postgraduate studies with a new study: Specialized translations.
The study program will include developing practical skills in translating specialist texts in such areas as: law, science and technology, economics and business, medicine and tourism.
The Specialized translations will allow to develop the translator’s skills, including tools supporting the translator’s work (CAT tools), and familiarize students with the specificity of the translation labor market, including the methods of searching for orders and cooperation with a potential client (from contact to contract). The program is also to develop conference interpreting skills (simultaneous and consecutive interpreting) in specialized language laboratories and it is complemented by classes deepening the knowledge of the mother tongue, with particular emphasis on the stylistic and rhetorical diversity of translated specialist texts.
