The 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, considered one of the most important in history, was celebrated by launching a special application called “Trails of Independent Poland” (Szlakami Polska Niepodległej) by the Institute of History of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin.

The mobile application “Trails of Independent Poland 1914-1922” is an Interactive Historical Atlas, addressed mainly to the young generation and history enthusiasts.

It is the first such historical atlas in Poland, consisting of 30 digital maps presenting in a dynamic spatial and temporal approach the struggles of Poles in the years 1914-1922 for free Poland and its borders and defending the independence regained after 123 years of the Partitions.

The application users can see an animated report from the Battle of Warsaw, hear the voice of Józef Piłsudski, and learn about two visions of Poland’s restitution.

The application can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store.
