Catholic University of Lublin supporting the fight against depression

12.04.2021

Students of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) initiated a nationwide social campaign on depression.

Students prepared a series of films addressed to young people, teachers and parents. Their goal is to draw attention to this disease, explain how to prevent it and how to help people who are struggling with it. The action is carried out as part of the World Health Day.

KUL reminds that every day millions of people in Poland put on masks, disinfect their hands and keep social distance to avoid COVID infection. In the shadow of the coronavirus threat, more and more children and adolescents are struggling with depressive disorders.

-We talk about depression when we stop enjoying the things that we have enjoyed so far, -emphasizes Dr Natalia Kajka, an expert of the Catholic University of Lublin, a psychologist specializing in working with children and youth.

As part of the campaign, the authors have created a website https://www.poproszeusmiech.pl, where the most important information and the Depression Inventory tests were placed. Thanks to it, each person can make a preliminary assessment of their mental health.
