Centre for Fire Safety and Acoustics to open in Kraków

The Centre for Fire Safety and Acoustics, the only such research centre in the Małopolska region, will be established in Kraków. The ceremonial signing of a letter of intent took place on 25 August 2022 at the headquarters of Łukasiewicz – the Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials. 

The aim of the investment is to create a research centre for innovative building materials in fire safety and noise protection, which will respond to socio-economic challenges related to construction, particularly important for the state’s scientific, economic and innovation policy. 

The letter of intent was signed by Witold Kozłowski, Marshal of the Małopolska Region, and Józef Gawron, Deputy Marshal of the Małopolska Region, Professor Jerzy Lis, Rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Professor Andrzej Białkiewicz – Rector of the Krakow University of Technology, Professor Sylwester Tabor – Rector of the University of Agriculture in Krakow, Marek Chwała, Commander of the State Fire Service Aspirants School in Krakow, as well as Paweł Pichniarczyk, Director of the Łukasiewicz Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials and Piotr Dardziński, President of the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
