The Centre for the Popularisation of Science of the University of Bialystok (UwB) has been accepted into the Society for Society and Science SPiN. This is a network with currently 30 members including national science centres, museums, cultural institutions, and research institutes.
The most important objectives of SPiN are to develop a society based on education, science, technology, and innovation, to encourage critical and creative thinking, to foster a better understanding of science and to inspire public dialogue.
SPiN organises regular events such as the Polish Science Day, the nationwide Interaction-Integration conference on the popularisation of science or SPiN Day.
Members of the Association include the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw, the Hevelianum in Gdańsk, the Olsztyn Planetarium and Astronomical Observatory, the Jagiellonian University Museum in Kraków, and the Mill of Knowledge Modernity Centre in Toruń. The EpiCentre of Science in Białystok and the Centre for the Popularisation of Science at the University of Białystok have also recently joined the project.
