When the new act (Constitution of Science) comes into force, only those universities that conduct research and use the latest scientific achievements in the field of teacher education and student education will have the right to educate teachers – said Piotr Müller, deputy minister of science and higher education, in an interview for the daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita.

Universities that undertake education of the teaching profession are obliged to achieve at least the scientific category B in the discipline of the study. Deputy Minister Müller also announced that pre-school and early-school education as well as special pedagogy will be conducted as a unified master’s program. All changes are to be introduced gradually from the next academic year.
